- Pet-Friendly: Dogs are allowed in the park.
- Beach and Water Activities: The park features a beautiful beach on Lake Michigan, perfect for swimming, sunbathing, and picnicking. A buoyed swim area is available. There’s also access to Muskegon Lake for boating and fishing. A boat launch is located in the Snug Harbor day-use area.
- Hiking and Trails: Explore the park’s diverse landscapes via hiking trails, including dune trails with panoramic views of Lake Michigan.
- Muskegon Luge Adventure Sports Park: Within the park, this year-round sports park offers an Olympian-designed luge track, ice-skating trail, sledding hill, cross-country ski trails, a zip line, a summer luge track, and an archery range. Note that additional fees may apply for these activities.
- Fishing: Available in Muskegon Lake and off the accessible navigation channel walkway. An accessible fishing pier is in Snug Harbor.
- Picnic Areas: Picnic tables and grills are available in the Lake Michigan day-use areas and Snug Harbor.
- Observation Platform: The blockhouse, originally built in the 1930s, offers panoramic views.
- Winter Activities: In addition to the Luge Adventure Sports Park, the park offers cross-country skiing and snowshoeing.
- Accessibility: The park is wheelchair accessible, with features like a wheelchair-accessible entrance and parking. A track chair is available for visitors to borrow at no cost.

- Campgrounds
- Yurt: The park has a 20-foot-diameter yurt that sleeps seven. It includes log bunk beds, stacking cots, a table, chairs, a solar lantern, and a wood stove for heat. There is no running water inside the yurt.
- Mini Cabins: Two mini cabins in the Lake Michigan Campground are open year-round. Each sleeps four and includes two bunk beds, a mini-fridge, a microwave, and heating.
- Group-Use Area Campground: A rustic campground for civic organizations.
